VPW #10 (Alone)

Empty (Alone) Hummingbird Feeder

The morning sunshine peeps through a
southern pine upon an empty feeder.
Where are my friends?
When will there be food and birds?

  1. Guess you are going to have to be like me and buy friends, fill it up - AND THEY WILL COME! LOL

  2. It definitely is lonely w/ no feathered friends around...a beautiful image with great contrast between the red and the green. Now get out there and fill your feeder - I am sure you have plenty of hungry friends (although i think it will be a while before the hummers will be back!)

  3. I like the way the sunlight hits the trees and highlights the feeder. Nice balance too, with the strong verticle of the tree trunk and the feeder.

  4. Have to agree with Karen and Tammy--I like the contrast of the red and green and the vertical lines of the feeder and tree trunk.

  5. We feed the hummers all year long, even though this central valley gets some very cold weather at times... If you don't fill that jar they tell you about it...flying around the head while you are running inside for refills.

(Thanks for your kind comments over on my blog. I'm glad to share the lessons learned in my class!)

  8. John this is great. I love that you brought out all of the colors. The red and green just jump out at you. Your capture really fits the Theme very well. They all ran away here too! We have no one eating at the moment and I miss them.

  9. Beautiful John! I really like the composition and the contrast in the picture. And that feeder really seems to be alone!
